Why do some ads always appear on AOL, yet rarely on Google?

Hi,

I have a particular keyword that I know will generate a lot of quality clicks if only I can make the top 4 at AOL (because I did make it for about 6 hours and the click counter went mad!)

When I search on Google my ad often appears no.1, on it's own. Yet on AOL I appear right at the bottom of the search results page, sometimes 5th sometimes 8th - so missing the real important top 4 spots.

I know that I would have to pay a high price to get into the top 4.

What I'd like to know is why these 7 ads ALWAYS appear on the AOL search yet very rarely on the Google search? Is it to do with budget?

Thanks.

Are your ads appearing on second page of Google search results?

My guess is that most of the competitor ads on Google have not yet been syndicated to AOL. But they have a good CPC x CTR combo and hence they are on the first page of Google search results.
