Wide Varitions on CTR and Conversion %' s?

I just started some new campaigns so it is not like I can have enough data to see any real long term patterns in them. But in general I just wanted to know if it is common for others to see wide variations in the CTR and conversions from Google?

Yesterday my campaign had a high CTR of 6-7% and today it is between 1-2% CTR and the conversion rate yesterday was Very high and today it is non-existant. Both days land on the Weekend. Sat. Sun. Are Sundays slower then Sat's usually? It's not just the amount of traffic that seems about the same as yesterday (the impressions) it is the CTR. The ad and position of the ad is the same as yesterday too.

I don't have content advertising on. I do have search network on though. But if this is all because search network didn't kick in until today I would still think that the CTR of Google's site would be as high as yesterday and at least get as many clicks as then with as many sales. Just with a few more from the search network on top of it. But not the case at all.

It's too early to really tell. But I'm impatient and worried about wasting money. I hope yesterdays results were not some sort of weird fluke. I want to finally find things that are consistant and therefore can leave alone to run on auto while finding more just like it.

A campaign I run for a client regularly sees wide variations in conversions. Most days it will be 3-4 but then sometimes it reaches 10 and sometimes drops to zero.

Daily impressions and clicks are pretty consistent so I put it down to fluke.

If the average was much higher - say 100 conversions per day - and I saw that suddenly drop or rise then I would be more inclined to investigate other causes as that suggests a trend.
