Best ROI times and days?

Pause and resume ads?

There must be times and days when ROI (Return on Investment) is better for online sales.

Has anyone seen any research or can provide their own experience?

I understand that this will vary by product and demographic of the shopper, but there must be some pretty well established trends by now.

I am thinking of pausing my ads during low ROI times and/or days and resuming during the peak buying times. Or increasing and decreasing bids during these times.

I've seen that traffic picks up on Sunday night and is highest until Wednesday and then drops off into the weekend. But that is just traffic. I want to know whether a higher % of folks BUY more at 8 pm at night rather than at 7 am in the morning, or on Monday rather than Friday.

Maybe CJ has some stats on this.

Thanks.

There aren't. It is, as you say, different in every little niche. Establishing these trends for your own business is the only way in my opinion.

It depends on what you sell. B to B and B to C are very different.

If a site can track down to an online sale you can work out what is best.

Widestrides, I think the answer is that there is just too much data to try and figure it out as a human. Advertisers need systems that track the cost and revenue at the keyword level and adjust to the ever-changing ROI characteristics of each keyword and the overall keyword set.

I get the best ROI by turning my ads on Tuesday night, and off Friday night. But that's just my experience with my widget.

I also remember reading an article awhile back saying men tend to buy online in the morning, women tend to buy in the evening.
