Adwords Cookie Question

When is it disabled

When is the cookie that Adwords creates disabled or deactivated? I know it automatically expires after 30 days but what about when the person actually visits the location?

Does it get automatically deactivated when someone visits the target site? Or will it be tracked EVERY time that person visits that target site in the next 30 days.

To my knowlegde it just counts one conversion even when users return to the page so that means that it would have to be deactivated after 30 days or a conversion.
