(applies to pre-pay only) £50.00
Prepay allows you to pay in advance of receiving any clicks. As you receive clicks, we deduct the charges from your prepaid balance. Your ads run almost immediately after we receive your payment. If your account runs out of funds, your ads will stop running until you make another payment, so be sure to regularly check your account balance. To help you keep your account balance up-to-date, we'll email you when your funds run low and when your balance draws down to zero.
hmm...

How do I make a bank transfer payment?
How can I ensure that Google receives my bank transfer payment?

This is a good example of how Google could improve customer support. Sending out a 'what's new' newsletter would go a long ways towards letting people know all the new features they have to offer.
IMO - this is one area where google really lags behind the competition.

I thought AdWords did send out a newsletter. Although not often, it seems to have new things in it... As far as developements, etc.
All the Best,

Currently you cannot switch your payment or billing methods. You cannot switch from post-pay to prepay or vice versa. You cannot switch from credit card payment to direct debit payment methods, such as Bankeinzug, Switch, or Solo.
What I'd really like to see is pre-payment with a debit/credit card.
Currently you cannot switch your payment or billing methods.
Well, darn. I was about to do a happy dance.
Let me get this straight. New customers can set up prepay but the old ones can't switch?
*sigh* You know, the accounting dept. here would love to have a single invoice rather than 30 or so. Glad to see they are working things out for the new customers instead of those of us who have been around awhile
We tried an AMEX card purely for Google and Amex said that was using a card to fund a business (Thanks Amex... why did they let Google take Amex then?). We tried to Pay our Natwest business card off more than once a month but Natwest said this was frought with errors. We tried tio raise the limit on the cards, but there are only so many houses I am going to put up as collatoral.
We pay by bank transfer on the credit we get, and risk cock ups paying off debit cards weekly instead of monthly... but how will this help me?
Dixon.
1. Many people don't like their cards autobilled, or have credit limit issues. By prepaying, they control how much they are spending - period.
This will be useful for new clients who are sketchy about giving someone their credit card number or having contract clauses that say things like: Google uses a credit billing option, we attempt to stay within your allocated budget, but we can't control how Google does credit card billing.(I require all advertisers to have their card on file - I don't use my own cards for advertising).
2. As discussed often, many people need to raise their daily budget to 5x what Google suggests to have their impressions shown all day, even though they may only spend what Google suggests. With prepayment, the worries are gone that you might actually spend your daily budget and go over what you really wanted to pay.
3. For companies, it allows one to send Google 15k at the beginning of the month. Have one monthly invoice for the accounting department, and know thats all your going to spend that month.
Especially if I have a client with bad credit - I can get them to pay up front. I also agree that a fixed budget is a good thing.
But it is still not so great that I suddenly need to pay all upfront to fix my budget. That could have been achieved with original existing system.
Anyway - I accept it as a nice option to have, but paying weekly by Direct Debit would suit me even better if they would let me.
seems U.K. got this option before anyone else did.
Yeah sorry spotted this last week but made fatal mistake of assuming this was old news!
Receptional - I have to agree with you on all the frustrations on the billing side of Adwords. Can't understand why they are not prepared to make it easier for clients with a credit history. I lose sleep because I am worried that the account may go down as a result of a billing failure. (Our credit card company keep putting security stops on the card).
At least now I'll be able to start running my ads again and pay for them in advance on pay day.
