Free Adwords?

showing up in Adwords and never signed up!

One of my seo clients started showing up in Google AdWords as well as the top sponsored listing for several keywords...but we never signed up for this. This client holds position one on most of his keywords, so I seriously doubt that he signed up for this on his own without telling me. I guess I should be happy...it's just so weird. Anyone got a clue how this could happen?

I am assuming your client does NOT have an affiliate program.

or he HAS signed up without telling you, we run Premium listings aswell as being very high in Serps.

there are other possibilities, however then I would be revealing way too much :)

You could contact Google and ask for the persons details to be emailed to your domain name if this is not an affiliate that has signed up.

Tell your client to carefully monitor any marketing invoices that arrive. Stranger things have happened.

No affiliate programs. The only additional kick he pays for on website traffic is a few words at Overture. He barely knows how to collect his email (not net savvy in the least), so I really can't imagine him signing up for AdWords or Sponsored Listings on his own. I'm mystified.
