I am relatively new to Google Adwords. I started 2 campaigns for my business about 5 weeks ago, one local and one national. I had a learning curve, as I know is common with this tool. At first my CTR was about .2-.3 and I was even disabled once. I then got my ads refined and used some new techniques. I only hit one more snag and that's when they hit me with content targeting, which would give me a huge amount of impressions and send my CTR plummeting. That went on for over a day before I checked the ads again and realized what was going on. Now for the past 2 weeks or so my CTR is steady between 4%-7%. Overall, however, both of my campaign's OVERALL CTR is around .3-.4 This will take forever to inch its way up because I only get a fraction of the impressions that I used to get with my unrefined campaigns. Ok, so that's the background and now here is my question:
I realize that position is determined by CTR as well as bid price. If I want to start from scratch with my improved ads to get maximum positions do I have to create an entire new account or can I just create 2 new campaigns? I suppose I'm asking exactly where Google takes the CTR figure from that figures into an ad's position.
I have tried to make my question as clear as possible. Any information on the subject would be greatly appreciate.
Thanks,
Jeremy
