Is anyone else having difficulty accessing [adwords.google.com...] I'm just getting a 'The page cannot be displayed' error.

I can ping it fine, and I can access every other Google site (news, homepage, froogle, etc).

Was in there a few minutes ago, there was a message stating they would be offline for 15 minutes, starting 20 minutes ago.

Yeah, looks like AdWords was down for a short time while I was away from my desk. (No connection between one and the other, though, I'm sure.)

;)

Should be up for you all now.

It might be up again in Western Europe but its still down; down under here in Oz.

Amazing isn't it, I've spent 3 days waiting for a responce from support regarding a problem with one of my Campaigns, and now I can't get in to fix it!

Oh well, that's life I guess.

I get the login page, but when I submit my login info, it takes me to a page that just has a snippet of code:

<body dir="

Oh well, back to building more pages...

Adsense and Adwords have been down for about an hour here in Texas.

Go the <body dir="!

If you look at the source there's a few to do notes left by programmers at Google. Guess they ain't done them yet.

It's 10 AM in Colorado and Adwords has been unreachable for at least 2 hours. Just get a "this page cannot be displayed" error.

Yet, if I do a google search, I see that Adwords ads are still being served up.

I'm really new to Adwords, and in fact was just logging in to turn on a campaign that had been paused. Is this sort of system failure common? There's no advance warning, no alert, no prediction of when it will be back.

And a related question: if an Adwords campaign is running and costing you more than you want, and you can't turn it off because the service is unreachable, do they just keep charging you?

Welcome to WW muskrat.

I have had no trouble reaching the login page through [adwords.google.com...] .

And a related question: if an Adwords campaign is running and costing you more than you want, and you can't turn it off because the service is unreachable, do they just keep charging you?

This is so seldom a problem that it wouldn't normally affect your account.

You should be thinking about adjusting your daily budget limit if a two hour shutdown ends up costing you too much.

Hi all,

Arriving on WebmasterWorld rather late today, and just saw this thread.

I've checked with engineering, and learned that the AdWords interface was down for a brief time last night right about the time posts 8 thru 14 were made. This affected only a small fraction of advertisers.

Sorry if you were one of the few!

Word is that everything is as it should be now, so Muskrat, your login issues are likely to be unique to you rather than a system issue.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld by the way, Muskrat!

Since you are new to the forum, I'll just mention that I work at AdWords, and post here with the permission of the owner of WebmasterWorld and the moderators of this forum.

It's 10 AM in Colorado and Adwords has been unreachable for at least 2 hours. Just get a "this page cannot be displayed" error. Yet, if I do a google search, I see that Adwords ads are still being served up.

The AW interface can go down occasionally for maintenance, to add features, or for other reasons. Usually theses 'outages' will be short, and they'll be announced in advance whenever possible.

However, it is worth noting that these short outages will not affect the delivery of your ads, which will continue to run as normal. (I can recall only one exception to this in the past two years, and this affected a small group of advertisers only.)

If you continue to have trouble logging in, I'd suggest doing a site search of WebmasterWorld, as there are several recent threads detailing the more common reasons that this may occur. Or, as an alternative, contact AdWords support, who can provide specific advice. Often the issue revolves around how your computer is set up, if you accept cookies, and so forth.

Thanks for the reply.
I have found that I can log in from a different computer. This is very odd, since the one that can't connect to Adwords is the one I'm using right now to write this message -- so I've obviously got connection to the internet, DNS is working etc. This is a Win2K machine that is running IE6.

My Mac sits right next to it, runs OS X (Panther) and using Safari I have no trouble now connecting to Adwords from it. Both share the same router, broadband connection, etc.

I even rebooted the Windows machine, but still no luck. Perhaps if I delete all cookies it will work? Anyway, it's not a big problem right now, but it is a mystery.

Did a quick search, Muskrat, and found this recent thread that may help some. Hope so.
