1)If I exceed the £50 will I be charged the extra (even though I haven't give credit card etc details?
2)Why have I had no clicks yet (after 3 days)? I'm guessing it's to do with not putting in credit card details. Will I have to give them the details before they will run my ads even though I already have the £50 in my account. The thing is it says campaign status is active, but it also says in a red box:
Note: Your account hasn't been activated. Payment information is required in order to run your ads. Please provide your payment information on the Billing Preferences page in the "My Account" section. Typically, your ads will begin running almost immediately after you submit this information.
So, I'm confused about what I'm meant to do.
3) Finally, what is a good CPC to have? I have it set to £0.04 which I'm guessing is incredibly low, seeing as the default was about £1.40. Could this be causing my no clicks?

is the answer to non showing ads.

Shak is correct when he says your account will not go active until you enter your credit card information, even I you have an account credit in place. A couple of important notes, though, about what'll happen once you enter your credit card info:
* Your account will become active at that point, and your ads begin to show shortly thereafter
* Your £50 credit will be used first
* However, it is very important to note that once that £50 credit has been used, your account will not stop running. The AdWords program is designed to run on a ongoing basis unless the advertiser specifies otherwise. You can do this by pausing or deleting your campaigns or Ad Groups, or by setting an End Date at the campaign level
...The thing is it says campaign status is active...
The 'campaign status is active' message really means only one thing, although advertiser's often read more meaning into it. The only thing that message means is that the campaign is not paused or deleted.

Your Max CPC directly affects your position on the page. So, the fact that your Max CPC is well under the suggested Max CPC of £1.40 indicates that your ad will be appearing quite low on the page (or perhaps even on the second or third page).
