Two campaigns, two companies, and the same ad?

Heres the deal.

Two ads in different campaigns. Both ads are exactly the same EXCEPT for the display URL and destination URL. (two companies that sell similar items). Will both ads be shown? Or does Google only show one at a time since the are set up by the same person?

Only one ad will show zeus661. It is strongly held value that an advertiser should have only one ad showing at a time for a given keyword search.

So of all the ads I run I really shouldn't bother advertising the same thing with two different companies. Especially if I use the same keywords?

Like if there are 3 companies selling "red widgets" I should only pick one company to advertise?

With a slight different question you asked in this thread:

My answer still valids for your new question.

You can pick all three as you like to test which one will give you the best conversion.

To do so, you can create the same or slightly customized versions of ad for each company.

The ads will have different destination URL.

Dont forget to remove the check mark on "Automatically optimize ad serving for my ads", so that each ad (or each company) will be displayed equally.
