This has been going on foe some time now, even after stopping campaigns (delete/pause), the clicks just keep piling up. I figure google adwords is no longer a real time reporting system?.

The only explanation for this is that what u see on their control panel is a few hours old. Cos im dealing in a very very competitive market, even a lag of say 45 minutes gets me dozens of clicks that i did not want.

Hell...

This was happening a while ago. A lot of peoples campaigns (including mine) stopped working, they just wouldn't stop from showing when cancelled, show when enabled, change when modified.

Upon first sign of system recovery, I paused my campaigns and have not since re-enabled them, So I don't know if the problems are on-going. I'll be very cautious of using it from now on as the last thing I want is to advertise over a short period of time for a competitive keyword at $0.60 a click, then not be able to disable the campaign.

The whole reason I use the AdWords system is that if you use it correctly you can have a "Fixed expendidture" ad campaign, which is very good, but I don't lie knowing that it might not stop when I tell it to!

Anyway, GoogleGuy had something to say about this problem, do a searh for the specific thread as he was helpful in his replies..

He mentions something about there being a time lag between their server blah blah blah.....what is the point in keeping adwords running if i am not sure of the clicks and spending on my part!....very unprofessional indeed.
