disabled keywords came back for free!

if you are patient, they get restored, eventually

I haven't seen this mentioned before, but after I got the warning for low CTR on my keywords and they got the dreaded two yellow stars, I left it alone for about a week without touching them or paying the $5.

Sure enough, today the warning is gone. Whew. $5 saved. I doubt everyone can be this patient, but its nice to know the penalty is not permanent. -aV-

How much was lost? For $5?

well it was part of a learning process to weed out bad techniques and keywords that were thought to work vs. did actually work... this particular site's daily budget was only $5 a day for book promotion, I can see where a larger more commercial site $5 would not be worth it (unless you keep triggering the warning every day)

For the smaller sites with small budgets, this tip might be helpful in calming nerves when that warning first triggers.

I agree. I also recommend Adwords to anyone that wants to learn how to write ad copy. Fantastic tool for that. Just didn't want to see anyone sweat five bucks when they could rewrite and earn 5k. :)
