Content Network?

If I uncheck "Content Network" shouldn't that stop the impressions list in "content targeting" on the leyword list from increasing? I am finding that I have high impressions for "content targeting" with no ctr.

That is why I turned it off but the impressions continue to increase.

...but the impressions continue to increase.

zeus661, a couple of possible reasons:

* Stats run about three hours behind - so click and impressions that occured before you shut off Content partners will continute to show up in your stats for several hours.

* Server delays: thousands of servers must update before your change is fully incorporated throughout the system. Depending on server update times, load to the system, etc, the time to fully update came can vary from minutes to an hour or more. Please note that this principle applies to all changes made within your account, not just choosing parnter networks.

Wouldn't high impressions be to your advantage to get your brand recognized? Don't you pay only by the clicks?

High impressions also bring down your CTR. If millions see your ad but never click on it you gain nothing.

It is not good to have a low CTR.

My understanding is Google bases CTR on the CTR of G serps only. Not of the content providers.

Correct me if I am wrong.

How about if I confirm that you are correct instead, XtendScott? ;)

You are quite correct that the CTR as it applies to your ads position per keyword, or keyword 'Status' does not include impressions and clicks from the Content Network.
