I've had an account with Google AdWords for about a week now. I've had about 400 hits from them. All of a sudden, last night about 12 hours ago. Everything just stopped. What's up with this? I haven't had an impression in 12 hours, and obviously no hits.

Nobody has any idea as to why this is happening? Google hasn't even gotten back with me on this.

BetaChat, folks probably haven't jumped on this one yet because there are many possible reasons for an account to all of a sudden show no impressions and clicks. And without being able to look at the actual account, it is next to impossible to say why this may be so in your case.

Off the top of my head, however, here are the more common reasons for impressions and clicks to drop to zero:

* Ads have been reviewed and disapproved. (An email will be send to the email address for the account to explain why - and a note will appear below your ads in the Ad Group view saying they are disapproved.)

* Campaign end date has passed. (You can check on this in the 'Edit Campaign Settings'.)

* Ad has been mistakenly deleted. (This sometimes occurs when an advertiser means to delete keywords, but uses the wrong link and deletes the ad itself.)

* Keywords may have been disapproved. (This is not very common, but it does happen.)

* Advertiser has set Max CPC higher than daily budget. (The AdWords system won't show your ads if one click has the potential to cost more than your entire daily budget.

Hope something here rings a bell, and I'm glad you've contacted AdWords support already. I trust you'll have a more particular answer soon.

Well, the only thing that you mentioned that could be it is that google didn't approve of my ad. I was providing consumers with a search, and affiliate link to amazon when the whole thing fell apart. When I was advertising my chatrooms things were on point, and everything was fine. I have no received any replies from anyone, and I emailed google last night about 11pm eastern US time. Then this morning again. No answer, and no emails saying my ad was disapproved, all my ad's are up and running, I have no messages saying that they disabled, nothing. I did have some at risk at one time.

BetaChat, please see post #3 in this thread for some hopefully useful details about getting the best service through AdWords Support emails, typical turnaround times, and so forth.

Appreciate the help. All I can do is sit back and wait.
I'm actually about to start a new account and take the extra 5 dollar hit, it would be worth it concidering all the money I'm loosing just waiting.

BetaChat, I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't mention this is not really the best thing to do, and can actually lead to problems. Essentially, AdWords strongly prefers that advertisers create only one account, unless there are compelling reasons to do otherwise. And a lack of clicks and impressions all of a sudden does not fall under the umbrella of a compelling reason.

It's sort of like parking a new car by the side of the road because of a minor problem that isn't clear to you, leaving it there, and buying another one.

Instead, we'd rather work with you to get the issue that caused the drop in the first place resolved. More than likely it'll be something rather simple.

I don't want to push any buttons here. And actually for the time being, my account is up and running fine. But I would like to make a point about your car analogy.

What if I was a truck driver, and my truck has a minor problem that I couldn't figure out without help. Now of course I wouldn't go buy a new one. But I'd need an answer fast, because this is the way I keep the lights on at home.

But so far the account seems okay. We'll see how long that lasts. I got a reply with something about my impressions had reached its limit. I didn't know there was a limit. And how do I change that limit so I can keep the account running. Because if I only have a limit of 60,000 per month, that's just not going to cut it. Is it based on a credit rating of me or something? Maybe the more I used the Google system, the more impressions I'll be allowed.

Thanks for the help AWA. By the way, do you work for Google?

Point very well taken, and understood. I was just trying to point to the idea that no matter what the product or service - be it truck repair, or AdWords - there will most often be a lead time for service. And it may be best to wait for the help, rather than start over.

I do understand that it is hard to be patient when your income is at stake though, believe me.

By the way, do you work for Google?

Yes I do. I've been with AdWords just a bit shy of two years, and posting on this forum with the kind permission of Brett and the moderators for about 9 months now. I should remember to do informal 'self-introduction' from time to time, for the newer members.

I try to spend a little time here every morning, afternoon, and evening - other tasks permitting.

Very glad that your account is running now, btw!

I appreciate the help. Do you advertise with Google AdWords, or is that a conflict of interest?

It has stopped again, today April 14th. Has been dead since noon for me. Even if I have a $50,000 budget with $3.00 CPC.
