Just thought i'd pop in to ask AWA if he could explain a little about the recent server issues that have been happening!
Over the last week or so a number of my campaigns and competitors have vanished! (adds have a high daily budget, and are approved)
At present none of my campaigns are displaying! and the top 3 competitors have vanished too.
I have spoken to a US consultant who did mention that you have been having server issues.... any idea when things will be stable again?
Kind regards, and thanks in advance
Jamie
I am particularly unhappy at the aggressive "twist of the knob" that causes a 4% CTR word to get disabled as the 4% CTR was not "through Google"...
Yes, on another matter, the system is slow in updating. I will see X clicks on a term (at campaign level), and when drilling down into the term (adgroup level), I do not see the same data - often seeing zeros.
I understand that the people there are probably extremely busy.
I guess I'm spoiled from the old days.
Still, AdWords Advertisers deserve better support.
Any indications on when the AdWords technicians will have the backend problems solved.? We are still zeroed out today...that's 3 days of no Adwords from our perspective.
I've checked with the tech team, who feel that the bug which caused a limited number of ads to not show earlier this week was resolved - as indicated in my post #3 on 4/07.
This is not to say that all who are posting here are not having issues. However, it is likely that whatever is happening in your account is probably not related to the original issue that sparked this thread in the first place. Our engineers continue to look, however, for other issues based on what you all have been saying.
I will also say that for many of the cases in which I have been involved as a go-between for information, the causes for the account not running are entirely unrelated to any technical issues with the AdWords program.
I'll certainly keep my eye on this thread, and keep in touch with the engineering folks - and post later in the afternoon if I have additional information.
AWA
I'm glad to hear that Google clearly acknowledges that there was a problem, at least, but this certainly doesn't help at this point.
Finally, I guess I'm happy that this is happening now, at least for the moment. We're back up, and our competition isn't. I can't explain why, but it certainly reduces the number of ads, and our CPC.
So good, Google, continue to leave your heads in the sand.
First, I thank you for your efforts on the AdWords Advertiserss behalf during this "crisis"..
I realize that with Google's Market Position and Pending IPO...one has to be very careful what they say..one does not want negative Public Opinion at this time.....it's nice to hear you say that there was some sort of bug that affected a number of AdWord Advertiser's Accounts..that's pretty straight forward and apparent to those of us who manage multiple accounts with some disabled and some working fine...
Our's is back up and running and I appreciate all the hard work the AdWords Technicians have done to work through this difficult process...HOWEVER...the email I received informing me as to why our account had been disabled ...
"Thank you for your email. I have reviewed your account and found that it was placed on hold due to a related account that disputed legitimate Google AdWords charges. Your account has been released from its hold status at this time. You should be able to see your ad on Google now.
"
...well..
quite frankly..I am embarressed when I see these type of political tactics being deployed against the very people who are lining Google's pockets...your advertisers...
Very mixed feelings here...but that's nothing new...it's called the human race and business...
WOW, a week long server delay, and when I checked stats right after the email from support I was still 0 impressions and 0 clicks. Thats an amazing coincedence that I checked my ads and they are now displaying.
Does G really not want to say, "OK there was a problem and it is now fixed". Or "We clicked the SUPER account refresh button and it now works".
But thanks to AWA for putting a bit of pressure to resolve the issue.
I rebuilt a new campaign, new creative (exactly the same), and started it and it is all working fine. No explanation for why the ads disappeared, but apparently the AdWords servers thought it was valid enough to list as "active" and yet not valid enough to display as an ad (hence no impressions/clicks).
As of today I still both ours and our competitor's ads disappearing at random times and then reappearing later for no good reason.
This can easily be explained by a low daily spending limit. This is a way Google esitmates traffic and clicks to get you coverage thoughout the day. Raise your limit to a very high $$ amout for temporary testing to see if your ad appears more often or consistantly.
If the above does not help then there may be another issue.
