Aff/Distributor Designation in Adwords

Newbie?, why can some ads run w/o aff/dist tag

New to Adwords. I am creating an ad as an affiliate to drive traffice to a merchant site. Just started last weekend and ran and ad that did not have affiliate or distributor designation and it was approved and ran. Did a new ad today and it got disapproved for not having the right affiliate/distributor designation....can anyone explain why?

Soon or later your last-week ad will stop showing and you will get an email about your disabled ad.

Any affiliate ad is **supposed** to have at least an "aff" designation in it. Some slip through but are usually discovered before long and brought down.
