I've been running ads on AdWords for about 6 weeks and have consistently averaged 2000-3000 impressions per day. Starting this Saturday, the number dropped into the hundreds and it hasn't risen at all since then.
I haven't changed any of my campaign settings and I'm not seeing any change in my average position that should affect the optimization. The Ad is for a site selling wedding-related services, so I can't think of any seasonal or causal factors for such a huge drop.
Has anyone else seen anything similar on AdWords or am I just experiencing a traffic pattern I didn't expect?
The situation you describe could have many, many, causes - so it's probably best to contact AdWords support and ask them to take a look. As mentioned in a post yesterday, the best way to do this is to use the 'Contact Us' link, which can be found on every page of your account.
I'm wondering if you've recently edited your ads or URLs? If so, be aware that your ad will then stop showing on partner sites until the edited ad can be reviewed and approved.
It sounds like your business would be a natural for partner sites such as AOL. And no longer appearing on partner sites can often account for a real drop in impressions.
