AdWords server problem?

I get a 404 error when trying to visit...

I've been trying to access AdWords since I came in from work about 6 hours ago... AdSense is fine and is updating about as much as I have come to expect.

Is it just me, or are others unable to even get to the login page?

I don't think there is anything wrong with my connection as I can get everywhere else I want to on the net just fine...

I'm trying to connect from the UK on a Pipex IP, I don't know if this has anything to do with it but I'm really stumped - I thought for a while there might have been improvements to the stats and was half hoping for it to indicate we were a step nearer to getting those anticipated AdSense stats updates...

Any help in determining the source of the problem would be appreciated... thanks in advance.

For what it's worth, I've been getting 404 not found trying to access the Adwords interface all day. This happens whether or not I go to the main google page and browse through "Advertise with us," "Google Adwords," or whether I use my bookmark.

[adwords.google.com...] redirects to [adwords.google.com...] which says "Not Found Error 404" and that's all.

Good to know it's not just me, but why is it only a few of us? How odd. :-)

Well, at least there is small comfort in knowing we are not alone... neither my bookmarks nor links directly from Google are working, so I don't think its just the fact we are using a broken link - even though the server response implies it...

Sorry to hear this websiteowner and JollyK.

I've just checked with engineering folks, and no particular issues are at work as far as I'm able to determine.

If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say it may be a particularly heavy traffic period.

Sorry for the inconvenience, and I hope that you've gotten in by now.

Sorry, AWA. Still getting "404 Not found." My bookmark is [adwords.google.com...] : Gives 404. If I go back up to [adwords.google.com...] : gives 404. If I just remove the trailing slash and go to [adwords.google.com...] : 404. If I go to [adwords.google.com...] , it redirects me to [adwords.google.com...] which gives 404.

Oh, HEY!

I just discovered that it works fine in Internet Explorer. I only get the Not Found with Mozilla (1.5). Since Mozilla is my primary browser, and "Not Found" is such a non-browser-specific type error, I didn't even think to check IE.

websiteowner: are you using Netscape or Mozilla?

Seems rather odd, though.

[edit]
Now that I noticed it was browser-specific, I closed out Mozilla completely, and reopened it, and no more 404.

Arg.

Thanks for checking on it, AWA.

Computers.

You gotta love em!

(Personally, I live by the ancient and sage advice "When in doubt, reboot".)

Thanks for the additional tips, JollyK.

clear cache is your best friend.

If you don't like IE, keep a copy of Opera or Firebird around.

I get those error 404's in mozilla even through nightly builds everyonce in a while.

I just have to clear the cache and restart.

If you have been a frequent mozilla upgrader you may which to un-install completely and wipe-out your prefs and some of that has been known to linger and cause issues.

Cannot login from the Netherlands either; have tried cable & dial-up, and Mozilla and IE; nothing seems to work...

It was still down when I tried to go to work this morning, but in trying some of the suggestions I managed to crash my connection... when I got home tho I was able to get the login page as well as log in. Not sure exactly what cured it but it certainly was rather odd how it was only a single section of Google I couldn't access.

I've had very slow access all day (UK cable) and now I just get "The page cannot be found"

I'm using Avant Browser which is just a front-end for IE.

However, I just tried IE direct and it connects to adwords OK.
