Do the same keywords compet for impressions the same way in groups in the same Campaign as in keywords competing in different Campaigns (but in the same account).

The reason I am asking is I have two clients that use similar (and some the same) keywords. I have one account with Adwords and was wondering if I make another Campaign that the Keywords would not compete with each other as much.

I hope someone understands my question.

Thanks

If the same keywords are in the same account, no matter where they are, they will compete against each other.

A max of one ad per search per account is displayed.

The only way to make two ads show at the same time is to make two different accounts.

Is having 2 accounts allowed?

If they are for two completely seperate entities (i.e. you are advertising for two different websites that are run by different companies) then I've not seen G have any problem with it.

Many PPC management companies make one account per website they manage and end up with several different accounts - and G has not had a problem with this.
