Anyone have any data on the top 5 or 10 categories (i.e. travel, loans, real estate etc) which provide Google with most of its Adwords revenue? I am trying to get a feel for which industries are the players here when it comes to providing Google with revenue.

As an aside, recently it seems that CPC prices are rising sharply as more advertisers discover the Adwords tool. Anyone else seeing this?

Thanks,

I thought it was against Adsense's ToS to discuss this.

The CPC are going up for popular keywords. I think you're right that as more people discover Adwords, the CPC cost is driven up. But most will give up when they fail. However, if you think out of the box, you may be able to find cheap keywords for those highly competitive sectors. When you set up a campaign and specify some keywords, Adwords suggests a max CPC value. That gives you an idea how expensive keywords are in particular sectors. From what I've seen, some of the most expensive keywords are in wagering, loans, insurance, etc.
