Pausing high-performing adgroup

possible without loosing premium position?

Does anybody have experience with pausing an adgroup that has been in premium position?

Do they immediately come up to premium position after resuming or will they show up somewhere to the right first? TIA.

I paused one of my premium ads a few weeks ago, for about 7 days (due to lack of client funds - grr). When I resumed, it immediately took its place back at the top, displacing the newly promoted ads.

So yes, they go straight back to the top in my experience.

If the CPC x CTR rank is the same for your competitors to what it was when you paused your ads, you'll come back in the premium position.

If someone elses ctr or cpc increased in your absense, then you could come back in a lower position based on the rank formula.

Nothing in your account will be changed, just others get all the clicks in your absense.
