I've been reading this forum quite a bit recently and am set to start an adwords campaign. I have a few questions.

1. Can I do an adwords campaign for a site that has adsense on it?

2. For my first campaign I want to have a budget of $50. Is it possible to set the daily limit spend to something like $2? Is there a minimum?

3. What tools can I use to track KW conversion and what is a standard way of doing it?

You all offer some great advice in this forum, I was about to purchase an e-book for $50. No use doing that anymore. Thanks

Thanks Shak, 1 down 2 to go. I am guessing you are refraining from answering #2 cause you don;t recommend a $50 camaign. If that is the case, how much should I allocate?

nope, as its quite an interesting question you ask, and ever so politely, I want to let fellow members give some good advice on small campaign spends.

There is no minimum but depending on your niche you can run a campaign with a 1$ daily budget.

If you are in a niche with very well chosen (exact match) keywords this may work for you (it does for me on several campaigns)

If you are in a fairly broad/competitive market you can still have a small budget but your clicks will be gone quickly and your ad may not show for a large part of the day.

General advise for low budget campaigns, us only exact matching and be very specific.

Thank you guys, I guess my last question can go unaswered. Since I am doing a small campaign, there is no need to track my KW with no few words.

Google offers a conversion tracking service (have never used it). Just make sure to know the match options, the syndication options, and where you choose to show your ads (countries). Those seem to be some of the biggest things new entrants overlook when setting up a campaign along with setting a budget so there are no billing surprises.

If there are conversion events on a site, it is always worthwhile to implement some kind of conversion tracking. Every little bit of insight from every campaign helps in the future.

There is no minimum daily budget as I know but your daily budget should be atleast the same or higher than your KW's CPC.

When considering small budgets, you also need to consider the daily traffic you want. The minimum is $0.05/visitor. So a daily budget of $1 will bring a maximum of 20 visitors to your site in a day.

That is only 600 a month. While this number is useful to help get a grasp of AdWords, at average conversion rates being (very broadly) around 2%, you'll see between 6-18 conversion a month, which might be difficult to track which ads and KWs are doing well with such low numbers.

If you run a small campaign, you need to be a bit more patient about axeing keywords and ads and how often you add new ones.

If you have a campaign of 100 KWs - most will not get any conversions - but could be good converting KWs, but you won't have enough traffic for a few months to get effective numbers.
