I was just on the phone with a customer and I wanted to show him the Adwords ads, but no matter what the search term was, he did not see them in his computer. Does anybody have an idea why? Could it be parasiteware?
By the way, we've tried many different terms that have several advertisers, and non showed. If he clicked on "Groups", they would show.
I am a bit puzzled.

is the customer running any antivirus software or firewalls? I was reading elsewhere the other day and saw examples of Norton blocking affiliate links and adsense links.

I'm not sure, but I will ask. BTW, the ads were not showing on Google.com.

Most likely the new Norton, which has ad blocking turned on by default.

Actually he has McAfee antivirus. No firewall. I am wondering if McAfee has ad blocking as Norton does

Yes, the new 2004 does, but I don't know which of the McAfee products do, and if they are also blocking AdSense/Adwords. The ad blocking should be listed as an option somewhere in the program. It is worth checking though.

I've had clients who have this problem. Most often, you can't see it displayed because you have a low daily budget set up. Google has to "spread out" the display of your ads over the course of the day so they don't go over your max daily budget...
This means that you won't see your ads every time you look for them...
