I finally decided to start some light PPC, as it is my first time. I have relied on seo, and that is working pretty good, but I would like to double my traffic. (Of course!)

I guess my question is this:
What were the steps that you took to get started in adwords, and made sure you didn't end up broke.

Thanks,
Mac

Macrost, setting your daily spending limit is the first defense against going broke. Obviously, you also need to choose your most productive keywords and start with them. If these very specific keywords work well, you can test new ones that are still relevant but perhaps not as tightly focused.

Think, too, about your headline and ad copy - you want to maximize clicks, but only relevant ones that will convert for you. Strike a balance between general appeal and tight focus.
