All premium accounts run out in a few days. For the few here that have them how much worse off so you think you will be with adwords? Or do you think you will be better off?

Me, I think some keywords will suck now but I can put more resources elsewhere so in the end it will work out about even.

Premium owes a lot to my bank balance, lifestyle and new car on the drive way :(

I remember this thread:
[webmasterworld.com...] and a comment from a certain Google employee :)

sad to see it go.

but hey, lets move on and see what 2004 holds for us.

Yeah Shak. I reckon it's your fault Premium is going!

If you hadn't told the world what a great deal it was, Google might not have noticed!

Damn!

Actually I just wanted to login and see my premium stats for one last time and they have taken the premium login away. Need the reports for my adwords statergy in a few days time.

My ads always dominate with CTR's and get premiums, but some competitors move from adwords to premium spots because they can't take me otherwise. Now the playing field is leveled and I'm going to love it.

This is a very, very good thing.

We never had a premium listing. Our biggest client was willing to pay big bucks, whatever it took to get the premium spot, but Google refused to talk to us when they found out what keywords we were interested in. Maybe they had a long term contract with a competitor. Eliminating the program makes things fairer.

I agree. I think it'll level things out a bit, and make the serps cleaner.

To the surfer it won't look any different. How can it be cleaner?

absolutely correct.

I keep wondering whether people are thinking that the 2 top spots will dissapear completely :)

for the record, all that is happening is the 2 top spots will NO longer be sold on a CPM basis and will simply be replaced by Adwords from the right hand side instead.

Anyone know if G has finished tweaking the premium slot algo yet?

We still cannot get exact match one worders with no competition up top, even though they have strong CTRs, etc.

Happy New year!

Oh, darn. They should, though.
