Check this out, now you can compete against other books with your adword ads!

Google has been experimenting with a number of publishers to test their content online. During this trial, publishers' content is hosted by Google and is ranked in our search results according to the same technology we use to evaluate websites.

In addition, these pages show contextually-targeted AdWords ads that are served through the Google AdSense program

You probably can do this on Amazon through Adwords too. I've done well w/ cross selling "blue widgets" on Amazon's "blue widget book" page by putting Adwords on the book's title. However, I've never marketed a book so I don't know if it would work as well.

I have a client that is a small press publisher so this is fairly exciting to me as a new marketing tool.
Very hard to compete against amazon (nearly impossible actually).
