Bizarre behavior on my Google browser

Hi - this is Glenn Livingston (been lurking for a while).

Can anyone help me?

Today I noticed some very bizarre behavior in my Google browser. All of the headlines for Google Adwords are MISSING. Furthermore, I can't click on any of the ads.

My actual adwords account seems fine (although the 'advertise with us' link on the google.com home page is missing too! - I have to get there through the direct domain).

I thought it might have something to do with my computer in particular, because other computers on my network internally don't show the same problem. So I dropped my cookies and rebooted the computer, but no luck.

Can you help? (I like to browse the adwords headlines and interest bars to understand what's driving a market before I enter into it).

Many thanks,

Glenn :-)

Did you install Norton or some other internet filter? Many of them are including ad stoppers that also Kill AdWords ads.

Hi Glenn,
Welcome to Webmaster World... I too was a lurker

Good advice about installing Nortons or similar product, but also any program can cause major headaches.

It shouldn't be, but it could be as simple as a service pack or other win-upgrade.

I had a user install a new shipping program from Fedex that totally changed the way that computers IE 6.02 worked.

That behavior definitely sounds like Norton Internet Security - it disabled the headlines so they can't be clicked, both as Adwords, and when the ads appear as AdSense.

This "feature" is automatically turned on when this program is installed, and you have to go into the settings to disable it.

1000% on the money - in less than one hour
you guys fixed my problem!

Wanna be my new best friends?

(Seriously, thanks - this is very helpful ...
it was Norton Anti-Spam - and I just turned
off the ad blocking for google in the settings)

:-))
