losing natural listings when your ad is on top?

Anyone had a problem where your natural listing on a google page "goes away", but your adwords banner stays?

We were the 4th natural listing on the 1st page for our keywords, but also had the top of the page ad. TODAY we noticed that the natural listing is totally gone - not just dropped in rank, it's not even in the top 30+ pages?

Anyone have any ideas if google has started dropping natural listings if your banner is up top?

Any help is appeciated.

As said before, AdWords ads does not affect free listings.

So a listing that has been in 2nd-4th place for 2+ yrs can suddenly disappear overnight with little or no changes being made?

I find that hard to believe.

Believe it. Is your whole site gone, or just one page? How many pages are in Google, and how many have been dropped? And what was/is your PR?

everything is gone, but we only had a few in the natural listings. we have been very careful not to try and play games and get inflated stuff.

As long as you haven't been banned for a specific reason, and you have some quality inbound links, you should get picked up again.
