I am wondering who else has noticed.

I just did a search for widgets, here in Chicago and got some interesting looking adwords ads:

Title
line 1
line 2
Green Url
Chicago, Il (in smaller font and grey)

Title
line 1
line 2
Green Url

My guess is that first ad was geo-targeted to Chicago, IL.

I do the search again:

Title
line 1
line 2
Green Url
Interest -------- (green bar)

Title
line 1
line 2
Green Url
Interest ----- (green bar)

Back to the old style.

Just wondering if anyone else has seen this, or if anyone could explain it?

Werty, that is what I have been seeing also. On your second example, my guess is that the regionally targetted ad is not showing due to budget constraints etc. But when it does show, it knocks out the "interest" bar line, leaves it blank, and instead shows the targetted location for the regionally targetted ad. In other words, on your second search, since no targetted ads show, it is back to the old style, and the new style shows only when there is at least one targetted ad up.

widget, I think you are right on the money. It is not at all unusual for two searches to deliver different results (both in terms of the number of ads showing, and in terms of which ads show).

This can be due to variety of factors, with the most common being daily budget.
