Unbelievably, the amount of spam in my inbox dropped by 90% almost immediately and I've just had my first spam free day for literally years. I was receiving anywhere between 20 and 200 spam emails per day.
The difference is so dramatic it couldn't just be a coincidence. I'm about to restart my advertising so it will be very interesting to see what happens.

Are you suggesting the spammers went into their databases and pulled your name because you weren't advertising with Google anymore? ;) Perhaps spam is an Overture plot? ;)

We are with a very large shared hosting company and they added a spam filter that was automatically activated. You have to go to the actual server to set preferences. If you are downloading all your mail to your computer then you wouldn't see it. You have to enter the admin site to adjust it. You can then have all spam dumped into a folder to quickly check it or you can have it all dissapear. We prefer the first choice so we can pick out any real mail that gets picked up in error.
The question then comes, how come it stopped all of a sudden. Must be a coincidence with some other occurance. Spam Assasin on the Server Side. ACTIVATED>
