Does Google Adwords have a mass submission spreadsheet template or email address that you can send your own spreadsheet to? I have a few hundred keywords with different URL's, titles and descriptions to submit. Thanks in advance for your help and advice in this matter.
You can use our keyword insertion tool to automatically populate a search
term from your keyword list into your ad text. This tool automates the ad
text creation process and minimises the manual edits required to create
unique ad text for accounts with large amounts of keywords.
Please use keyword insertion with the requirements detailed below. If your
ad(s) and/or keyword(s) are not in compliance with all requirements, they
will be disapproved.
KEYWORD INSERTION
Place {squiggly brackets} around one of the following, as shown, into your
ad text:
{Keyword:Default Ad Text Here}
{KeyWord:Default Ad Text Here}
{keyword:Default Ad Text Here}
SPECIFICATIONS
- Default Ad Text: You must include default ad text in case your keyword
exceeds ad text character limits. If you do not include default ad text,
and your keyword exceeds character limits, your ad(s) and/or keyword(s)
will be disapproved. The default ad text you choose must be 15 characters
or less for the title and 25 characters or less for the description line.
- Editorial Guidelines: Ad text using this tool is still subject to our
Editorial Guidelines (http://adwords.google.co.uk/select/guidelines.html).
Therefore, if your inserted keywords are not in compliance, your ad(s)
and/or keyword(s) will be disapproved.
- Character Limits: If an inserted keyword makes your ad text exceed the
character limit and you have not included default ad text, your ad(s)
and/or keyword(s) will be disapproved. Please be sure that the final ad
text (including inserted keywords) does not exceed the character limits
for each line (1st line = 25; 2nd line = 35; 3rd line = 35).
EXAMPLE
Keywords: amazon jungle, travel to the amazon jungle (all lowercase)
Ad text created:
{KeyWord: See the Amazon} <- 'Keyword' shown with initial capitalisation
Gorgeous vacations for the
entire family; try us out!
theamazonjungle.com
Ad text seen on keyword: amazon jungle
Amazon Jungle <- Keyword shown with initial capitalisation
Gorgeous vacations for the
entire family; try us out!
amazonjungle.com
Ad text seen on keyword: travel to the amazon jungle (27 characters)
See the Amazon<- Keyword too long, default ad text shown
Gorgeous vacations for the
entire family; try us out!

Very briefly, this is a tool that was developed for use in managed accounts. The reason for this careful release, as you can probably imagine, was the potential for problems if the tool was not used by more sophisticated advertisers who could anticipate the results.
If the tool is not used with finesse, it can result in ads that must be disapproved, headlines that don't 'fit', ad text that makes no sense, and so forth.
Bottom line: A great tool, and please use with care and expertise.
1. Although shady's excellent post shed some light on the process, it still remains unclear whether the "keyword insertion tool" is a method that you use to format text when populating the ad forms, or a tool in the google adwords account management screen, or a downloadable script (which I highly doubt)?
2. A very important function for me is to be able to specify different landing pages/URLs (product pages, to be exact) for every keyword, and I didn't see how this is possible with the tool. It's a painfully intensive process to do by hand, and every other PPC I have dealt with (tier 1 and 2) has an email address where you can send a customized feed/spreadsheet/or text file according to the exact specifications provided by the company. I was hoping there's something similar to the custom spreadsheet upload concept with Adwords.
Thanks in advance for clarification on these issues as I hope to be launching quite a large campaign soon. :) (inside joke: i remain a "saaaad panda" regarding the delayed calculation of PR for a site of mine).
The keyword insertion method posted above is used when formatting the text of your ad. It is not a tool you can download or a feature in the adwords interface.
As far as adding unique URL's you can go here for more info.

I do wish there was a spreadsheet option like you mentioned but I don't think it exists at least not for normal accounts but maybe for managed accounts.
Maybe AWA can shed some light :-)
Using:
widgets ** 1.00 ** [widgets.com...]
I am specifying a specific keyword/cost/URL, but there's no information about how to add the title of the ad, and the description also.
Using:
{Keyword:Default Ad Text Here}
I can't specify the cost/URL.
... I simply can't believe it's so hard to submit a lot of ads in this basic format which is accepted by all other companies:
keyword: blue widgets
ad text: quality blue widgets here
url: widgets.com/bluewidgets.html
cost: 1.00
keyword: green widgets
ad text: quality green widgets here
url: widgets.com/greenwidgets.html
cost: 1.05
but I find if you can use access you can split keywords to their ads and just upload 750 at a time, I agree it would be nice to have title option but i get around this with carefully queries.
it works for me but i am fortunate to have a lot of keywords with same ad text, if you needed to add a title to each keyword i can see how that would be a nightmare.
And harvey, I agree with you, even high-end clients probably can't customize their URLs, just look at ebay, netflix, and amazon showing up for absolutely irrelevant un-targeted keywords. I hope their account managers know their keyword listings are set to ultra-mega-broad match! :)
Any veterans care to comment on this (what I find to be ridiculous) issue, which mind you... not a single other PPC company has problems with when it comes to accepting mass submissions!?
