We have a big guy competing with us in the travel industry with 2 listings with the same URL for the same search term. The 2 descriptions are slightly different but both are targeting a geographically specific market & hotel so it can't be a broad match bug. We found 10 examples so far. Anybody else seeing the same thing? Yes, I wrote to Adwords and waiting for a reply
does 1 of the ads happen to be an affiliate?

* The AdWords program is built on the principle that one person should only have one ad at time show for a given search term. This is to be fair to the other dozen or so people who also want to show on the first page.
* You may certainly use the same keyword in more than one Ad Group or campaign within an account. However, only one will show at a time.
* Creating a second account in order to show twice for the same keyword is counter to the Terms and Conditions that advertisers agree to. Needless to say, this is not an accepted work-around. =:/
* If you see a case of a competitor 'double-serving, please send us an email with sufficient detail for us to duplicate your findings. We will certainly look into it.
And good question there Shak :)
IMO, an affiliate ad must point to the aff's own site, or else a vendor could easily buy 4-5 Adwords accounts and use the above loophole without needing to set up 4-5 fake aff sites.

It may be built on that principle, but it certainly doesn't operate on that principle.
To find search terms that produce a premium sponsor and several regular Adwords listings for the same company/URL is a 2 minute job. Why these folks pay several times for these listings is another question......but they do, and Google allows it!
A nod is as good as a wink to a blind man......say no more ;)

Does this mean that if I use my AdWords account to manage campaigns for several clients, a campaign per client, G will never show ads for more than one client per SERP?
