as a newbie I wondered why you would want more than one account?

I can think of a couple reasons. The most logical would be so that you could bill seperate sources for different sites.

I think the more unethical reason is that you can have several accounts bidding on the same keywords and block out your competition. Similar things seem to be done a lot in the regular search results for competative searches.

You also have to pay attention to the premium ad buyers who can end up owning one ad up north plus another one down with the regular ones.

Google's supposed to filter them out but it doesn't always happen.

It's good to call customer support and have them block out the double ads.I don't hesitate to narc out anyone who is trying to unfairly work the system.
