Banned from normal SERPs

Impact on Adwords Campaign?

Hi - A client has just asked the following:

"If your SEO company gets our site banned from the normal results, will our Adwords campaign for the same URL also come offline?"

Anyone been banned & had no subsequent problems with their Ads?

All other clues welcome.

According to what I've heard and read - AdWords and serps are completely different databases, and being banned from one has no effect on the other.

although it worries me the sort of clients you must be attracting to get asked questions like that, or even worse the sort of practices being used :)
