I am a little confused to how to make broad matching work for me.
I have a four word phrase that I am trying to target, a destination.
For simplicity's sake let's say that it is:
Stratford Upon The Avon
(I know it doesn't really have "the")
Okay so I am thinking let's target all Stratford and all Avon searches, and use negative searches to kill the bad matches, ex:
avon
stratford
-stratford festival
-stratford canada
-avon cosmetics
-avon romance
etc etc
Shouldn't Adwords match my bid with searches for
Stratford Upon Avon
Stratford On Avon
Startford Avon
Stratford Upon Evon
based on the fact that I (thought) I told it put me in *All* Avon and/or Stratford searches - except for ones that I flagged as bad matches.
Well it's not working. What am I doing wrong? Do I really have to bid on every variation I can think of?
avon
stratford
-festival
-canada
-cosmetics
-romance
The downside is that someone looking for "romance in stratford" will not see your ad either, but you need to make up your own mind whether that is a problem or not.
The reason it's not working is because of the glitch in the system since last Thursday.
Please see [webmasterworld.com...]
for a full expnation. Give it a few days and check again or watch that thread to see when it's working.
I just tried our regional keyword which we have as a broad match and our ad appears however when I ad a word like "scuba" my ad does not show up - the glitch.
