Roughly what is your goal on adsense in dollar wise, and are you near that now?
I will start, my goal is to get back to $400 a day again where i was before shake out earlier this year, and am currently only around 15% of that

Although I feel sorry for you, I must admit I also have a sort of, ya know, exited feeling, cause this is the first time I see someone stating he or she does even worse with Adsense than I do;->
Well yes RJ, but talking about goals Martin O'Neill is no longer the manager of Celtic :)
Glad that topic finally hit webmaster world .. on the other hand you are missing out on the Dolmio ads .. ;)
Wouldn't that get too heavy? --Well, you can always put the girl down, I guess... ;-)

LOL love it :-)
I know this is a place of the professional webmaster talking about professional webmaster Issues even the 'foo' feels too business like. Nice to see people didnt leave they're fun side in bed..
I just wanted to ask; do you use the Google heatmap? Have EASY and clear navigation through your site? Do you sell other things through affiliate programs? Do you have flashing banner ads that are very annoying?
Are your Google ads big, up front/in the middle of your page (read annoying to the average reader)?
Do you keep your layout simple and with colors designed to relax your visitors so they go away with a pleasant feeling and tell their buds about your great site?
Do you have a notify a friend and a feedback form? Do you have a bookmark this site script and make it your homepage script at the top of your index page?
Just doing half these things should net you returning visitors and new traffic as well. It is not all the search engines....if something happened and you fell in some future update would you still be able to keep your site afloat?
My directs far outpace my search engine traffic but of course it would not be pleasant to lose it, still I would not be totaled if it happened. Might lose about a third of my income and I am in the top ten on main keyword, #8 last time I looked, and #1 on several key phrases.
I hope this will help you up your income :)

Do you
I was hoping you would like it to.
Worked fantastic for me. I am finding out an old truth, 'less is more'. By that I don't mean taking adsense and other advertising off the pages but dropping them into low key and convincing your readers you value THEM and want them to enjoy the experience of surfing your site, not the money you make off them....just my opinion, and for me it is right...hope it is for you also.

One is new (about a week old) and already getting hits plus 2 people used the tell a friend script yesterday.
My middle site has doubled in traffic and went up 2 hundred and 50% in page views since I completed reworking it in July. Not to mention tripling in earnings.
Like I said, works for me.
Now you guys have all my little secrets LOL :)

<edit> the new site has only 1 skyscraper ad on the left and today is the 5th day and it has over 100 impressions and earned a grand total of 96 cents! :)
My solution? I'm glad you asked!
I'm working around the clock to build a self-service advertising center where others can place ads on my main site on specific pages, sub-categories, and main-categories. Advertisers can also choose to have their ad displayed on the page with the AdSense ad, or (for a slightly higher cost) have their ad replace the AdSense ad altogether. This should help make my transition away from AdSense smoother.
My preliminary findings are that I should be able to bring in 4 times what I was making through AdSense after this operation is in full-swing.
I love what AdSense has done for me, but if I can gain my independence from it, I will lay it all on the line.
