It's been stuck for 4 days.

There are other threads about it.

It's still broken - now 4 days.

Is California still on a long weekend? :-)

ASA what's the problem?

Tropical, you were reading my mind. Just restarted my computer to ask the same question.
This is getting a bit annoying.
G, gimme back my preview tool, or else,
or else I will say ni!
(Anyone understanding this rubbish of mine?)

I'm also waiting for the tool to get fixed. I'd at least like a guesstimate of when it will be working again. Taking other routes to check out the sites is a bit tedious at best.

ni!? Sure thing as long as it has anything to do with knights who say ni!

And you solve it in 30 seconds...

Now broken for 5 days.

I wonder if they have had a problem with scrapers or other nefarious sorts using it to find the pages that will generate the highest clicks.

Seems odd that a tool like this would be broken for so long if there wasn't something else involved.

perhaps too many people turning too many ads off?

I turned a couple of ads off just before it went south, bit the dust, whatever, and my income-everything took a small dip but went up again. Now the clicks are a lot less but price per click is up and earnings are up consistently.

I turned off an irrelevant ad that was riding under cover using an ad that appeared to match my content but when clicked it was a jewelry site. The other was a scraper/scammer that was selling watches. A long list of the same great bargains (insert watch name) bargain starting at 99.00. a Loooong list (sort of put you in mind of the guy on a corner, "wanna buy a watch" and pulling up his sleeve to show an armful of watches going up to his elbow. LOL!

Come on Google, Give us the preview tool back!

Ann, at least the ones you found were trying to sell something.

I was finding advertisers whose content, if they had any content at all, was one or two sentences max and a page full of adsense adblocks. They weren't trying to sell anything - just out to get clicks.

Sick.

I run a site on book information, and tend to remove the following ads (I've removed at least 100):

1) Print on demand companies
2) Ads with bad grammar
3) Ads which promote a single item (such as an author's poorly designed site out to sell their first book)

Regardless, it's very rare that the targeting is completely off, and I have yet to see an ad which is to a site which should be banned.

ASA said they're working on it.

At this rate it must be a team of technically trained snails on the project.

Oh, the targeting as to the ad on my site was right on. It only showed when you actually clicked on the link LOL. I'm sure I had a few disgusted users when they went to those sites.

What some people won't do for eyeballs.

Now in day 7.

Come AS - let's get this back up and working.

I really miss it.

If there has been some big problem that you can't address at least let us know.

What's the hold up?

Waiting for assistance from FEMA?

I don't think even FEMA could help this.

Well SHAZAAM! there it is....

Someone found the strcpy( s, t ); that should've been strncpy( s, t, 512 ); that was causing the buffer overflow.

Interestingly, my CTR went up about the same time as the tool returned.

My CTR has been WAAAAAY (about 30%) down since exactly the time the toolbar has been "broken", but other things were going on that could have affected my CTR -- but maybe not... it seems to be doing well again.

Time will tell.

Cool.

The last time the Preview Tool broke my revenue also decreased, Same with this time, I am talking about 30 - 45% decrease. Anyone else see this effect? I wonder how much this cost Google?

Yeah it works again. And I tried it right away while reading this thread. The first ad that popped up said:

"I am rich, you're not".

The preview tool doesn't only work, it's also psychic now!
