Page Title

I have a blog dealing with my experiences of a new technology. It can be described as "widget" or "wid get". Up until now I have always used "widget" but I decided to change the page title to "wid get" because it seems there are more searches for that. As soon as I did that my ads changed to general "blog" ads. Three days later I changed back to the original title and immediately the ads were back on topic. It's as if Adsense indexes your pages against the page title and any change makes it stop serving those ads and revert to general site ads.

An interesting possibility from this: when I changed my Adsense account from company name to personal (i.e. a new account) I had my best ever day in terms of income (nearly double what I was getting at the time). I interpreted this as, for my site, the general ads were converting better than the page specific ads. I now wonder if I change the titles of all my pages on my main site I will get the general ads and increase my income for a day or two. I can then change the titles again for a boost to my beer money fund. Does this sound like a good idea?

Are you saying that your visitors are more interested in "general widgets" than "specific wid gets?" Or are you saying the blog ads pay more than "general widgets?"

I find this interesting because the advertisers in the Adwords forum are saying that "specific" keywords are more expensive than "general" keywords.

How close is your Adsense to your title?

What I'm saying is a very narrow statement - changing my page title caused all my adverts to be related to the site theme (in this case Blogspot - i.e general blog adverts). This is rather than taking my new page title and serving adverts realted to that.
