Hello again,

Since my last post is moved to another forum, i will ask a question in that message seperatly here.

Are there anybody who tried adsense in forums? Do forums return some money from adsense?

Thanks for the replies.

I don't think it will work at a high level. Like any other site will generate leads/income but not at a hardcore level

this is just my opinion if you think difrent just let me know too ;)

Thanks.

I'd try it. We have not the best, yet a good conversion from our forum.

Make sure to keep quality up.

And read some of the great posts here about Adsense in Forums [google.de].

I didn't have success with it, and I think I know why. Although my forums get visited fairly well, the threads have a tendency to discuss the same areas over and over again, so the same ads show up most of the time. The visitors simply get familiar with them and ignore them. Also, my threads rarely get past 4 posts (usually someone just asks a specific question, and somebody gives a specific answer - end of discussion).

In general I don’t think forums work to generate anything more than minimal revenue. Be it with AdSense, banners or whatever. The basic reasoning being that as another poster points out forums then to get repeat visitors, so the same people see the same ads again and again. Another reason that some one else point out to me a while ago is that in forums people are to busy interacting to pay attention to any ads that might be on a given page.

Perhaps conversational style forums have usually low CTR, etc., but some message boards are working really well with AdSense when they are very topic-centered and their typical user is a new visitor -specially on static html boards, search engine friendly- who posts one or few messages (such as requests for information, and so on).

Thanks for the answers. I did not have any idea because i did
add them yet to my forums. (Even my site is very new.)

JuniorOptimizer: What about sharing the subject of your site with us so that we can conclude some more things? (If possible of course)

Looks like I was wrong. What kind of traffic do you have?

I just optimized my forum site (from tips found in here) and my CTR went from a 1.0 average to a predicted 2.1+ for next month

Over 21,000 unique IPs per month.

I'm drawing about a 100$ a month right now with about 1500 messages a month - not great but worth pursuing.

CarKnee, what would be your top 5 forum-specific optimization tips?

Around 150 daily "unique" visitors to the main forum page, topic integrated ads, several off-forum pages under different domains (same niche- "outdoors widgets").
Maybe 300 unigues to all of em put together.
Less than a buck a day.
Been visiting and posting here since adding the program a few months ago, and it's become obvious I've learned about all I can, made changes, experimented and it hasn't done squat for me.
Just letting you know that it isn't going to magically "happen" for you.
I'm workin my tail off and letting it all happen above board and legit.

My thinking is similar to what's been said already.
The same crowd every day gets ad-blind no matter how you dress them and change them around.

The biggest jump was when I put images above, and next to, the google ads.
