Ok to have ads on pages that Google Normally Doesn't Show Ads On?

Hey,

Everyone knows that there are a few terms that google doesnt show ads for.

What I am wondering is if it is ok to have ads on those pages that are about any given subject that google doesnt show ads for. I would think that google would just show a PSA.

Thoughts?

I am just curious.

IE - A lot of of forum owners have forums that have very diverse sujects, and adsense is embedded into the template. Would google just show psa's on a page discussing #*$! or tobacco or marijuana?

Yes . . . but . . . would the fact that PSA run mean you haven't violated the AdSense agreements by allowing AdSense to run on pages with nOkay topics?

Sub-question: Would the companies "behind" those PSAs be happy to know that ads promoting their good cause were appearing on pages discussing marijuana? Might someone report seeing "their ad" in an inappropriate context?

Just food for thought.

Related question: If you are going to run AdSense on a forum is it incumbent upon you, to state in your forum's TOS, that certain subjects are unacceptable and will be deleted? Since AdSense is contextual advertising is the forummaster's duty to see that the "content" conforms to AdSense terms?

Who knows? Anyone? Might there be a shift in enforcement of policy if quality becomes an issue?

they dont pay a cent for those PSA, so if they don't like it too bad. if they want to be seen on good pages then pay up like everyone else.

we should be given the option to turn the PSA off (and without using alt url).

i can't think of anyone that likes to advertise for free.

For the record I have no problems with showing PSA's every once in awhile because for the most part I believe they are for great causes.

To clarify, the AdSense ad code should not be pasted into sites with content prohibited by AdSense program policies.

It doesn't matter whether PSAs or Google ads are showing, if the code is on a page with prohibited content, it's a violation of the AdSense ToS.
