As part of the latest update, Google has launched a Site Map feature:
[google.com...]

It all looks very complex, requiring knowledge of XML, but the end result sounds like it might be worth the effort, especially for database-generated pages. Being able to tell the Google spiders how often to index each of your pages is a very cool feature, here's hoping those spiders actually listen to what you tell them :D .

How many of you are going to bother signing up and creating a site map file? Is this going to become a standard that is required for everyone, AdSense publishers in particular? After all, when you have just published your new page, you'd like to see it getting indexed right away.

Any page I put on my network gets added to their index within a few days. And my core pages also get crawled/updated every 24 hours, the others every few days.

I recommend every site to have a sitemap of some kind. But does it have to be Google's verson? Absolutely not.

This feature was released quite some weeks ago and isn't hard to use. You don't even need to use XML. You can even submit Atom feeds (not sure about RSS) or files which just contain a list of URLs.
