Happy Monday!

EPC has gone through the roof

Is it just me or is anyone else seeing this? EPC is way higher than normal, with EPCMs in the triple digit range. In the first 2 hours of Monday, I'm already 2/3 of the way to my record day.

My site is still small and doesn't earn a lot, but this is a hugely noticeable difference.

Saw this my self, but i changed the color of my ads so I am assuming thats what did it for me.

I don't think this is the result of a click dump ... Not the number of clicks per se, but rather EPC is much higher than average. It's 3 to 4 times higher than normal for me.

Yups, looks the same to me even, though I have small site.

Certainly one of my channels has gone through the roof in relative earnings (normal impressions, CTR).

Maybe the new Adwords system produces Revenue Dumps and this is what we're seeing.

Little over 5 hours here and mine are up also. Price per click is up as well as earnings.

I get a click dump every night about 2 hours into the next day and my daily earnings usually go up for the day just closed by a dollar to five dollars. Doesn't affect the current day.

My entire niche's EPC is up over 1000%...

If today stays at this pace, I will have both my first $20 day and my first $100 day on the same day.

I bet it won't last long... enjoying it while it does though!

So they possibly witheld the higher priced clicks... which would kinda make sense from the fraud checking perspective.

Waiting for the next click dump to see if things are on the same plane as earlier.

I can't wait to find out if I'm eating steak on G tonight!

ken, yes, and if only there was a good way to tell if it's a good day. These "my EPC has jumped in the last 3.5 minutes" threads don't really add any value. Especially when we're talking small sample size as in

My site is still small and doesn't earn a lot, but this is a hugely noticeable difference.

It's not "but", it's "therefore".

Remember, statisticians can choke on small samples...

Remember, statisticians can choke on small samples...

Can they? I'll have to start posting regular updates.

Today and yesterday have been good to me too.

Same here. Seems to me that Google tries to list an enlarged version of the highest bidding ad whenever it cans. Less people click but CPC is way higher than the average across 3 or 4 ads. Results for me is higher overall income.

I know it's hard, but try to stop looking at this from a daily perspective. I still do it too, but I try really hard to step back and take the longer view - like weekly or even monthly. One or even two days shouldn't get you fired up or depressed. The times I've fallen into that rut, it invariably turns out that the week or month ends up just about like the others.

Hmm, well for me the 19th of August cut two thirds off my earnings, and it's been like that for 4 days in a row now.

I'm a regularly updated "news" site, so Adsense has always been a bonus, only now it's a bonus that's gone from $12 a day to $4.

Hope it balances out, and I hope other small webmasters aren't losing out to factory-farmed keyword spamming big businesses :(

Last month for me was horrible, but I can see this month, and especially in the last week, the income ramping up signifigently.

Today is 3X my usual average, although I don't expect it to last like that this months average is the highest ever with the same amount of click thru's.

I fully understand that averages must be seen over the long view and that nitpicking clicks is not a productive use of time when done obsessively.

Having said that, however, unlike some, I think these threads can be useful for contributing to our understanding of just how Adsense works. It's something Google likes to keep us in the dark about, and there is only so much information we are allowed to share. Watching for trends and anomalies is what many threads here do.

For instance: it might be significant that such a jump in EPC took place on the first day of the week, specifically, the first hours of the week (Google time). For those who might find the info useful (if not please disregard and move to next thread), I also happened to see at the same time that for those channels paying far higher EPC than usual, ads being served were taking up 2 to 3 spaces in leaderboards and 2 spaces in rectangles. -- When we put our collective experiences together, we can start to make (Ad)sense out of it. [pun intended =)]

I don't understand why people who are annoyed by these threads continue to read them ... unless maybe they secretly find value in them, too? ;)

mine is just the same, the difference is that I just break a new record for traffic today, which lead to a new record of adsense earning.. how sweet :)
