Their money spends just as well as anyone elses
Actually I've found it can often spend better. My competitors pay the best and I get satisfaction knowing they're paying my bills...
There is a local company that is very "elite" in their thinking and will not work with my company (on a local level) though we target the same customers and have entirely different products that merely compliment each other but don't compete.
For instance... all of our customers have to own both of our widget types to be able to make something function, but they don't sell mine (and never will) and I don't sell theirs (and never will).
I get such a kick that they are a major ad that shows up daily in my AdSense blocks!
They are clueless that I own all these websites. They could have saved thousands of dollars dealing with me directly if they had ever been approachable on the topic.
They continue to shun me as a small-time local business that can't possibly be any use to them.
What else is funny is that they continue to pour money into AdWords but they do not rank in the top ten for ANY of their keywords and probably never will. I could have helped them years ago to optimize their site, etc.
You just never know when some peon will walk into your business and actually have something of value to offer. In the business world today it doesn't pay to always take the hard line of being a lone ranger.
I don't harbor any ill feelings about my past attempts at some type of friendly business relationship with them... but I'm laughing all the way to the bank now!
