Hi everyone, i have a quick question that you veterans might know a little more about than i do.

How do i increase my cut of a click on one of my ads on my website?

For example, if a surfer on my site clicks on the ad for "blue widgets", and lets say it's a $10.00 ad, what are some ways i can help to mazimize my profit from that click instead of getting just a few cents?

I've heard it said that the percentage changes based on the popularity of your site and the relevance of it to the ad from a commercial perspective.

In other words (hypothetically) an ad for a huge online-only desktop manufacturer being clicked on from the home page of their biggest rival would pay a lot more than the same ad on my hobby site.

If that's true (which it must be surely to some degree) then ..... extrapolate depending on what sort of sites you've got to play with (and whether or not you want your prospects to go to the opposition).

I'm not a veteran by the way - well.... certainly not retired yet :)

PS. "Conversion" of the click is arguably another factor but I've always been curious as to how this would be detected!

fish_eye,
Thank for your correction.

Maximizing Ad CPC/Profit ratio

Provide unique contents, valuable info, better conversion and the best of all - be patient and be realistic. For a theme which produces $10 CPC ads, you may get an average CPC in a range of $1 to $2.
