Adsense on MY B2B E-Commerce Site?

Is Adsense right for me?

I've got a sales-only site, with descriptive copy about the "widgets" I sell, and buttons to buy them.

If I put up Adsense, I'll end up with ads that pull potential customers away to other widget sites, right?

On a 2nd site, I've got a discussion forum where other sellers of these same widgets talk about the various ways to sell widgets, which widget is best for what application, and where to find various widgets. It seems that Adsense will again offer ads to buy widgets at retail, as opposed to running ads that appeal to my audience (small business types selling widgets and running widget businesses)

Is there any other way to use Adsense and make some money?

Does McDonalds have ads for Burger King inside of it? Answer that question and you will get my answer for your question.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. Please allow me to clarify: If my widget customers are also interested in polygons, and I don't sell them, is there an Adsense way to direct these viewers to see complimentary ads?

And, for my 2nd point, since my readers are all small business persons, is there a way to direct adsense to show specific content?

Save the sarcasm please. This is a real question.

The ads shown on your pages will be related to the content of the page. If you want to show ads for polygons, you'll need content about polygons.

We kept AdSense off our retail sales pages for quite a while, fearing that customers would click the ads and we would lose business. That has NOT been the case since we took the plunge. Instead, sales have increased AND we get a check from Google every month. The increase in sales is not related to the ads, but to better promotion thru Adwords and better content on the page.

We also have a sub-domain that is B2B which contains AdSense. Again, business is better than ever.

Here's my one tip should you decide to include AdSense. Don't place the ads at the top of the page. Most of my ads are at the page bottom. This is contrary to good ad placement, but helps ensure that customers at least view my page before viewing the ads.
