Good Traffic - No money from Adsense

I have traffic & clicks, just no money!

I have been an AdSense member for a while, but wasn't making the money with it as I was with other advertising places, but now, I am wanting to try it again. My AdSense account has been doormat for a while, and just started using it again.

For example, yesterday I had almost 2000 impressions, with an OK (not great) CTR, but I earned ZERO, Nothing, $0.

I don't understand it. Is this normal? If it is going to do that, I will once an for all abandon it, and go with something I know that works.

Thanks

Rob

Welcome to WebMasterWorld!

To answer your question, that's not normal. There could be any number of reasons for it, though. If you tell us more about your site and your sources of traffic we might be able to make some guesses.

You might also want to read the posts in this thread and start experimenting:

My website is a forum (about Reality TV), and I do understand that with a forum it can decrease your eCPM. It was just something that I wanted to experiment with, and didn't expect to get rich or anything, but I expected to make more than $0! LOL

Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome to WebmasterWorld RobRFF!

If you just added the ads, it might be that the Mediabot didn't crawl the pages yet and that Public Service Ads (PSA's) are displayed. These are counted as impressions and clicks, but pay $0.00 If this is the case, the problem should be solved in some days.

Yes, I did just add them yesterday afternoon! That sure could be the problem.

I am looking at todays stats and have over 500 impressions with a few clicks, and still no money, but like you had said, it may take a few days!

Thanks

I have ads on my forum as well. This is the worst channel for me - I think I'll remove the adds from the forum as I have not had any luck with them. Rest of the site is doing all right.

Yes, I agree that forums are not a good way to monetize traffic. However, they are a good way to help boost your pagerank and gain free content for your site.

The downside is that they need a lot of attention or spammers will take them over.

There could be something wrong with your business proposition.

You get click-throughs but no one buy suggests this.

You need to an analysis of your usability of your site and also do something to track your viewers clicks and see what they are really doing.

Analyise what is going on then if you have some interesting results and know what you need to do to change then experiment. Trial different concepts to see if changes any results.
