Log-in problem

When I log-in this morning it says "An AdSense account does not exist for this login, as it is associated with an unapproved application".

I cannot received e- mails sent to my adsense account because I already discontinued it. Am I booted out from adsense? My site still displays google ads.

As long as your site displays ads, you can be sure your AdSense account is not disabled. It looks like you forgot the correct password. You can actually change your email address associated with your AS account. It can be accomplished by emailing them asking them to update your email address (you cannot change the address directly in your account preferences). They will reply asking for various details, such as your first day payment, etc.

However, if you do not have a valid email account associated with your AS account, then I think you may have a problem. Email seems to be the only way to recover a forgotten password.

It looks like you forgot the correct password.

No, because if you use either an unknown email address or false password, the system will respond with "Invalid email address or password".

As far as I remember posts from this forum there are three reasons for the "unapproved application" message:

• You signed up for AdSense but your site has not yet been reviewed by Google
• Your account is disabled
• You recently signed up for AdWords, and Google synchronized your AdSense and AdWords inlog account names.

I got this login problem 3 days ago. They told me that they had suspended my account because of invalid clicks. I asked them to reveiw the suspension and offerred to cooperate fully. It seems that my account had been reinstated today. Good luck!

When they suspended your account, did the ads stop showing?

My last log-on was lastnight around midnight and when I cant log-on this morning, however, until now the ads are still showing. They may have sent an e-mail to the one associated with my adsense account, unfortuntely i cant received e-mails on that e-mail address anymore.

I am still waiting for their reply.

Emolina, it took them more than 2 days to respond to my mails. I am quite sure that the account suspension was done by a robot without any human review in the first place. The Ads stopped showing after half an hour or so on most channels. A couple of channels were not affected, but they hardly get any impressions.

Although my account had been reinstated, I have not received any further e-mails from them. It seems that one of one channels is still suspended.

No, I found the culprit site and it was a different site. It was a forum which I have just bought this month. Its normal traffic is 120 uniques per day but on the day the suspension occured, it shot up to 2200. The next day it came down to 500. I have since removed Adsense from this site in order to prevent a recurrence.

The site that is still suspended is another site I bought this month. It has since been accused by Google of containing copyrighted MP3 files which it did not. Given what had happened, I don't think it is likely that I will get this site reinstated.

So what is clear from this episode is that Google does have an extremely sensitive detection system for increased clicks. Other sites in my account brings in more than 15,000 uniques a day so 2000 uniques is really not that much.

Comparing 120 and 2200 unique vistors per day it is almost a 20-fold increase. If the detection mechainsm is on a per channel basis (I think it is very likely), then it is not an over-sensitive one. I was thinking if webmaster can do something (e.g. installing counter script) to prevent it proactively. Any one has suggestion?
