How did people find out about this?

I learned about it hear (thank you) - but did not see a note in my account or an email from Google

It looked like only 60 participants were on the call (based on what webex reported online) - I would have thought more publishers would have joined in -

so not sure how they promoted this.

About the call: I thought it was very good! And I really liked the open communication and Q&A.

I hope Google does this on a regular schedule and lets the publishers know they can participate.

You will see a link to "What's new" when you login to your AdSense account. The webinar was announced on that "what's new" page.

Who needs to click on the "what's new" link when we can get all the AdSense info we need right here :)

Seriously, Google probably would have got a lot more participants if they would have put a hyperlink that stated "participate in an AdSense webinar"

Some lucky Googler will have to transcribe it first into text ;)

Dang.

I had no idea about this - I never bother reading the "What's New" because the blurbs they post there never tell me anything new.

As in "We have new link styles" or "We've changed the look".

Yes, I kinda noticed.

In future, ASA if you're reading, please do put something about that in the blurb on the "What's New" message. I'd sign up in a flash.

Here is the quickie review and highlights from today's webinar. Well worth the half hour spent listening to the presentation and Q&A, although the Q&A was most beneficial.

Rob, an AdSense product manager confirmed they are looking into making the channel selector box more user friendly. Currently, you can only see 4 lines in the channel selector, which makes it a lot of work if you have 50 or 100 channels to chose from, as it makes for a lot of scrolling. You can also search for specific channels in the channel search box that appears on the reports page once you select the channel radio button.

Channel data is now viewable showing impression stats per page, as well as per ad unit.

They are getting feedback (I am guessing not good!) about the new way the 7 day report calculates. Before, it included today's stats in the 7 days, but now it excludes today's stats and shows the previous seven days only. So this might be something to change.

They are working on more areas of AdSense optimization this summer.

It sounds as though there is the possibility of an official AdSense blog, I am guessing similar to the popular AdWords blog.

They should put on more of these, even if it is just for the Q&A portion. And yes, someone did ask about what is being done about spam sites running AdSense ;)

There was a lot more covered, these are some of the highlights. Hopefully a transcript will become available as last time.

Would've been nice to hear they are going to aggressively go after those sites.

Really looking forward to the next webinar:)

Wonder why there were so few participants?

novice, there were so few participants because timing of this webinar was bad. People work at 2:30pm. Couldn't watch it, my boss was in the office.

Well, i guess it's not at 2.30 p.m because i joined at 4.30 central time and could still listen to part of it. I guess they delayed it for a while.

Wonder why there were so few participants?

Good grief!

No disrespect intended here however do you and Google seriously believe the entire world revolves around Googleplex time?

I'm in the UK and it was NOT a good time for me, how about all the programmers/webmasters/etc in India and China when they were...errr...possibly in bed asleep?

People work at 2:30pm. Couldn't watch it, my boss was in the office.

I understand that as "I wanted to watch this because I run my own Adsense outside of work."

Otherwise, if it were for your employed work just WHY would your boss object?

Me? I'll watch the highlights:-)

I understand that as "I wanted to watch this because I run my own Adsense outside of work."
Or perhaps, "My boss asked why it's on the company site. I told him the search engines require it for indexing".
