Not making any adsense money...

Confused!

Hi all,

Now, don't laugh, but I just set up my account the other day. My page hardly gets visitors, but I did get about a dozen or so impressions with a few clicks, but my earnings are still at zero! Shouldn't I be making fractions of cents? How does this work?

I'm very confused about all of this! :)

A dozen or so impressions is unlikely to result in any clicks. If you run a forum type of site expect one click every 100-200 impressions. If you run a unique content site, that may ramp up to as much as 1 in every 50, perhaps one in every 20 (maybe even better if the site is optimized and qualify traffic).

If you had "a few clicks" on that they may have been just one person clicking on the ads so Google would disallow that (and if it was you who clicked on the ads Google will boot you from the program).

Then again, if your site is new you may just be showing Public Service Announcements (PSAs). Those don't result in any payment.

I had a few 0 cent clicks too when I first started with adsense, they go away after a few days.
I don't know what causes them, but don't be too alarmed,they're nothing serious.
