This code would cause keywords and keyword phrases WITHIN the text of articles in your pages to be "hot linked". When a reader clicks on the hot link, he/she is taken to a regular AdLinks page with ads about that keyword/phrase.
Wouldn't that be COOL and simple? That might open up a whole new webmaster customer base for AdSense. Webmasters who don't want obtrusive ad boxes showing on their site could choose this option.
What do you think? Pros? Cons?
Why do I do my best thinking when I'm not conscious? LOL
The name of this new product (in my dream) was:
"AdLinks Hot"
Sweet dreams to you all
BTW
YesMom, I wish your dream come true.
Advertisers may switch their ads on/off in this type of serving. Just like search/content selection of adwords. That would be only a subcategory option under "content".
Also, the underlined keywords aren't hot links themselves. The advertisement and link are within the DHTML box which appears when you mouse-over the specially underlined keyword. The chance of making accidental clicks on these are no more than regular adunits; actually less. Well, if someone still thinks s/he can accidentally click on these, they probably have some neurological problems and should consult a doctor immediately. They may also try throwing their ball-mouse to the waste basket.
... and when you look at the "Adlink" ad they do - the one where the highlighted keyworda are underlined and when you mouse over and ad "appears" - this does not conflict with Adsense ToCs because the ads are never on the page to begin with until you mouse over the keyword.
Hey... it was only a dream!
I *am* thinking about trying out C*ntera on some pages where AdSense isn't working for me.... but not alongside AdSense. I don't want to risk an incorrect interpretation of the T&C.
But I'm just curious enough to see how many words on my pages will "light up". ;-)
Kontera - very similar idea - and you can use it on the same page as Google Adsense.
i straight send an email to Google AdSense support about allowing me the option in my site. Their reply regarding IntelliTXT "Kontera Adlink" or any such advertising
"We do not allow text-based ads that either directly mimic or attempt to be associated with Google ads. To be more specific, we do not permit Google ads to be published on web pages that also contain what could be considered competing ads. This would include all content-targeted ads as well as text-based ads."
So please be aware about putting such ad along with AdSense.
About kontera, used them too they are very bad. Not only that 200clicks = 10$ the problem is their ads are too too slow! They take at least 10 secs to load...off topic.
Back to "adlinks" I would say no.
